Today was Cohen's first "real" dental appointment.  He did a wonderful job!  Dr. Williams, Miss Jessica & Miss Debbie made him feel very comfortable with everything and they even brought out the treasure chest!  We took Cohen with us the last time Scott and I had an appointment and Miss Jessica just went thru all the "fun" teeth cleaning stuff and looked around in  his mouth sort of for fun.  Today was different, today was a full out dental cleaning.  He did a great job while she cleaned and looked at his teeth and counted them.  He picked out strawberry flavor toothpaste and did awesome while she polished his pearly whites.  She even painted on fluoride and sat with her finger in his open mouth to prevent him from closing it for 30 seconds - he didn't bite once!  HA HA!  They even attempted x-rays - he did pretty well - however, those bite wing things are pretty big so he had a bit of trouble with closing his teeth on them - Dr. Williams was able to get a good enough glimpse.  Cohen did a fabulous job of letting Dr. Williams come in and check out all his teeth and poke around.  He gave Cohen two thumbs up and will see him again in 6 months!  WOOHOO!!!!  Scott and I did a great job as well - no cavities for us either (thank God!).

Happy Independence Day - Land of the Free & Home of the Brave!  How is everyone enjoying this weather?  WOW can you say HOT HOT HOT!  My eyes bug every time I look at my car dash temp and it says 102* or 106* really?!?!?!  It has been so hot lately that we have been resorting to taking the boys to "Old McDonald's" play place and to the mall play area to run and expel some pent up energy.  Not my ideal place to play knowing they are germ sess pools and breeding grounds for whatever up and coming funk that can be spread around.  ICK!  For the 4th the Teagues had a great time despite the sweltering heat.  Scott couldn't wait for it to get dark to bust out the fireworks he bought on our way back from Indy ~ boys and their toys.  :O)  Everyone slept in until 8 hallelujah!  I was on call - this was my Holiday and had to work only for a short case - thankfully!  I even tried a new recipe for dinner which was approved by Scott - phew!  I tried and all-in-1 ribs dinner in the crock pot - it was pretty tasty and the ribs just fell off the bone.  Poor Crosby missed out on the fireworks this year but Cohen was able to stay up a bit later and enjoy them.  He loved the sparklers and I even managed to snap a few cool pics of the sparkler in action.  Scott was having a ball lighting his extremely loud fireworks ~ he was like a little kid on Christmas morning.  :O)  I hope everyone had as enjoyable 4th celebration as we did!

Field Trip Foolishness :O)

All ready for his 1st field trip

So who's kid goes on a field trip and gets hurt?  Ours!  Today was Cohen's first field trip with his school.  All of the 3 year olds rode on a school bus to the Henson Robinson Zoo.  I think I might have been more excited about him riding the school bus than he was.  He is always talking about buses, trains, tractors etc.... so I just knew riding an actual school bus was going to be super cool for him.  The ride to the zoo was uneventful - however, the ride home not so much.  Cohen and a friend were sitting together on the bus and were being boys, leaning forward and sitting back really fast against the back of the seat.  Apparently when the bus driver either stopped at a light or stop sign Cohen fell forward and hit his left cheek on the corner of the seat.  Now he has a slight black eye from it and we have a permanent reminder via photo of his first field trip.  Aaahhhh the memories we make.

Let's see what's been going on?  Cohen and Crosby have been having a great Summer so far - lots of fun in the sun.  Crosby just loves to follow his big brother around to see what he's up to.  And Cohen is still stealing toys from Crosby and ticking him off.  I cannot wait for the day they can play together in harmony and not worry about Cohen knocking Crosby down or stealing toys from him out of spite.

 I have been busy trying my hand at homemade items - when I get a spare couple of minutes.  I've really been into hand made gifts the past few years.  And I have found several great ideas via Pinterest.  I seriously do not know what I did before Pinterest.  I'm sure there is a self help group for Pinterest addicts.  I can see it now - Hello, my name is Tracy and I'm a Pinterestaholic.  :O)  I feel they are more meaningful than heading to a store and getting a gift card or some item that the recipient may already have.  I enjoy the look on someones face when you give them something made from the heart.

And.... Crosby has been victim of the dreaded Hand, Foot and Mouth disease not only once but TWICE!!!  ARGH!!  I'm sure you all can guess how happy it makes both Scott and I to pay for a full month of daycare but only use 1/2 of it.  :O(  He was sent home one week with a fever.  He then developed the small red spots that later turned to blisters around his mouth and on the bottoms of his feet.  Everything cleared up and he was back to his normal self and then WHAMMO!  A week later the red spots and blisters came back.  There were also several kids that ended up developing the symptoms a second time.  Needless to say Scott and I have been juggling our schedules around - with a little help from Mamaw too - so that we can keep him home with us.  We are soooo thankful that our job/boss is pro family and has been so helpful in making our recent absences possible.  Hopefully all of this was just a little bump in the road and he'll be back to 100% sooner rather than later.

OK ladies what is one of the important events of a little baby boy growing up?  The first official haircut maybe??  Well my lovely, wonderful, awesome and super sweet husband decided to take it upon himself to give Crosby a little trim.  I use the term trim extremely loosely because he actually SHAVED his head - his little cherubic, blonde wispy hair covered head!!!  I was so distraught - I even teared up a little.  :O(  It has taken me a while to get used to his new "look".  He thankfully saved some of his hair that he scalped from him.  I just wanted to be present to take a little video or pics as his lovely locks fell to the floor.  I have since simmered down from the event and have started to enjoy his perfect fuzzy head.

 On an up note Scott fired up the clippers a second time and went to work on our oldest as well.  He grabbed Cohen and headed outside.  I was pleasantly surprised to see my cutie patootie come in and show of his new do!  Let me know what you all think!  Kid tested, Mommy approved!!  :O)

 Scott and I wanted to take Cohen away for a fun overnight trip - just the 3 of us.  We had recently been to St. Louis so we decided on Indianapolis.  Mamaw very graciously watched Crosby for us - thanks Mamaw!  We've heard good things about the Children's Museum over there and a hotel with an indoor water park.  Scott found a package that included both.  So our bags were packed and we hit the road early Saturday morning.  We swung by McD's drive thru for breakfast on our way out of town.  I think Cohen was surprised that "Old MacDonald's" served breakfast.  He enjoyed pancakeys, sausage and eggies from the comfort of his big boy booster in the back seat.  I think he thought that was the bees knees that he got to eat breakfast in the car.  We arrived early at the hotel and were able to check in - we unloaded our bags and were then off to the Children's Museum.  The Museum from the outside was pretty cool - you can see Dinosaurs on the outside that are looking inside and are actually 1/2 way thru the building.  In the lobby area was a lifesize model of Bumblebee from the actual Transformers movie - pretty cool - too bad none of us have seen the actual movie.  :O)  Cohen was such a good boy the entire time - it was so nice to focus on just him and make him feel extra special for a couple of days.  There was a huge Dinosaur exhibit where you could see a T Rex skeleton that had actual fossil bones in place.  Scott was in amazement thinking that animals that large actually roamed the Earth.  Pretty amazing to say the least.  Also in the Dinosaur section there was a place where the kids could put on goggles and grab a pick and brush and excavate for Dinosaur bones!  Cohen had a great time doing that - although he was digging everywhere but where the bones were. :O)  The main attraction was a MatchBox and Lego exhibit.  I'm sure you all know by now Cohen and his cars - saying he LOVES them would be an understatement.  He was in car heaven and could have played all day in the MatchBox area alone.  The science area with water, cave slides and a bobcat and crane that you could operate grabbed his attention as well.  There was so much to do and Cohen had a great time.  After the Museum we headed back to the hotel and changed into our suits and off to the water park we went.  AAAAHHHHH (angels singing) WOW Cohen was smiling from ear to ear.  The water was the perfect temperature and just the right depth for him.  In the kiddie area, where he spent most of his time, there were bubbling fountains, a tree house sort of thing that you could climb on with 2 small water slides and a huge bucket on top that every 5 minutes or so would fill up with water and splash down over everyone.  I thought Cohen might be a bit timid going around all the other kids but he couldn't wait to get away from us.  :O)  There was also a lazy river and 3 large water slides for Mommy and Daddy to enjoy.  You had to be 42" tall to go on the big slides and Cohen just made the cut.  He was able to go down the yellow slide, the milder of the three, with Scott and I.  He absolutely LOVED it.  Scott and I had a great time too.  He would come splashing down the slide, fall into the water and run right around and do it again.  I think his favorite part was hearing the ding signaling that the big bucket was about to tip.  Cohen would run around with all the other kids and sit down in the water and wait for the big splash.  It was so cute to see all the kids sitting down and start to scream when the bucket started to spill.  After the water park we went to Penn Station a sub shop that reminded Scott and I of our time in York, PA.  After dinner we headed to Cold Stone Creamery for a sweet treat.  Cohen picked the cherry vanilla ice cream with gummi bears and enjoyed every bite.  Scott swore that he saw Tootie  "Kim Fields" from The Facts of Life in line ahead of me at Cold Stone.  I have to admit she could have passed as her twin if it wasn't her.  After our fun filled day it was back to the hotel for showers and bed.  Cohen ended up sleeping until 9am Sunday morning - I think we tired him out with all the fun.  We ate breakfast and then Mommy got to go to Whole Foods for a little shopping trip - I really wish we had one here in town - I just LOVE that place.  After Whole Foods it was time to head back home.  I think we all had a great time and can't wait until our next getaway!
